Ants
The common black ant is around 4mm long, and is the most common garden ant found around the house. An active insect, ants nest in walls, grass and under paving. It will forage widely in search of food, which is how it comes to enter domestic premises. They usually prefer sweet foods.

Ants live in colonies, and when people see ants, they usually see worker ants attempting to gather food.
